Quranic Supplications (3) (In the Light of the Noble Quran)

Supplication for Righteousness and Obedience of Family and Children

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا (Al-Furqan - 74)

Transliteration: Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa zurriyyatina qurrata a‘yunin waj‘alna lil-muttaqina imama.

Translation:
“Our Lord, grant us from our spouses and our offspring comfort to our eyes, and make us leaders among the people of Taqwa (piety).”

Supplication for Protection from the Oppressors

رَبِّ نَجِّنِي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ (Al-Qasas - 21)

Transliteration: Rabbi najjini minal-qawmiz-zalimeen.

Translation:
“My Lord, deliver me from the wrongdoing people.”

This supplication was made by Musa عليه السلام when he departed from Egypt to escape the oppression of Fir‘awn. Allah granted him safety and guided him to his destination.

Supplication for Protection from the Whisperings of Shaytan

رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحْضُرُونِ (Al-Mu’minun - 97–98)

Transliteration: Rabbi a‘uzu bika min hamazatish-shayateen, wa a‘uzu bika rabbi an yahduroon.

Translation:
“My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils, and I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they come near me.”

The Prophet ﷺ was instructed to recite this supplication. It is especially beneficial when facing opposition or engaging in difficult dialogue.

Supplication for the Ability to Perform Righteous Deeds

رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِي ۖ إِنِّي تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ (Al-Ahqaf - 15)

Transliteration: Rabbi awzi‘ni an ashkura ni‘mataka allati an‘amta ‘alayya wa ‘ala walidayya wa an a‘mala salihan tardahu wa aslih li fi zurriyyati, inni tubtu ilayka wa inni minal-muslimeen.

Translation:
“My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to perform righteous deeds that please You; and make my offspring righteous. Indeed, I repent to You, and indeed I am among those who submit.”

This is a comprehensive supplication. It should be memorized and recited frequently, and gradually other supplications should also be learned and adopted in daily life. Reciting these supplications brings the reward of Qur’anic recitation.
