Minor Signs of the Day of Resurrection (2) (In the Light of Ḥadīth)

Greeting only those who are known is among the signs of the Day of Resurrection:

    ʿAbdullāh ibn Masʿūd (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Among the signs of the Hour is that a man will greet another man only because he knows him.”
    (Musnad Aḥmad)

    ʿAbdullāh ibn Masʿūd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Among the signs of the Hour is that a man will pass by a mosque but will not perform two rakʿahs in it, and he will greet only those whom he knows.”
    (Ṭabarānī)

    The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The best greeting is that which is given to both those whom one knows and those whom one does not know.”
    (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim)

Near the Day of Resurrection, people will neither command good nor forbid evil:

    ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAmr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Soon a time will come when the righteous will be taken away and only the wicked will remain. Promises and trusts will be confused and neglected, and people will become corrupt. The good and the bad will intermingle,” and he interlaced the fingers of one hand with those of the other. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: “What should we do if such a time comes upon us?” He ﷺ said: “Act upon what you recognize as good, leave what you recognize as evil, attach yourselves to those whom you trust, and leave the rest to their condition.”

Love of the world and hatred of death will arise among the Muslims, due to which disbelievers will advance against them:

    Thawbān (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Nations will soon summon one another against you just as diners invite one another to a feast.” Someone asked: “Will we be few in number at that time?” He ﷺ said: “No, rather you will be many, but you will be like the foam upon water. Allah will remove fear of you from the hearts of your enemies and will cast weakness into your hearts.” Someone asked: “O Messenger of Allah, what is weakness?” He ﷺ said: “Love of the world and hatred of death.”

Idolatry will reappear before the Day of Resurrection:

    Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The Hour will not be established until the women of the tribe of Daws again go around the idol of Dhū al-Khalaṣah.”
    (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī)

    Note: Dhū al-Khalaṣah was an idol of the tribe of Daws in Yemen, around which people of the pre-Islamic period used to perform circumambulation.

Wealth will increase to such an extent that people will be invited to accept charity but none will accept it:

    Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Before the Hour, wealth will increase to such an extent that a wealthy person will wonder who will accept his charity. He will call someone to take it, but the person will say: ‘I have no need of it.’”
