بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
درود شریف کے کلمات (احادیث کی روشنی میں)
”حضرت عبدالرحمٰن رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ مجھ سے حضرت کعب رضی اللہ عنہ کی ملاقات ہوئی وہ فرمانے لگے، وہ کہنے لگے کہ میں تجھے ایک ایسا ہدیہ دوں جو میں نے حضور ﷺ سے سنا ہے میں نے عرض کیا ضرور مرحمت فرمائیے انہوں نے فرمایا کہ ہم نے حضور اکرم ﷺ سے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ ﷺ! آپ ﷺ پر درود کن الفاظ سے پڑھا جائے۔ یہ تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہمیں بتایا کہ آپ ﷺ پر سلام بھیجیں۔ حضور اکرم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ اسطرح درود پڑھا کرو:۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ عَلٰى اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ کَمَا صَلَّیْتَ عَلٰى اِبْرَاهِیْمَ وَعَلٰى اٰلِ اِبْرَاهِیْمَ اِنَّکَ حَمِیْدٌ مَّجِیْد اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِکْ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلٰى اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ کَمَا بَارَکْتَ عَلٰى اِبْرَاهِیْمَ وَعَلٰى اٰلِ اِبْرَاهِیْمَ اِنَّکَ حَمِیْدٌ مَّجِیْد۔
(ترجمہ :- اے اللہ درود بھیج محمد ﷺ پر اور ان کی آل (اولاد) پر ، جیسا کہ آپ نے درود بھیجا حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام پر اور ان کی آل پر ، اے اللہ بیشک آپ ستودہ صفات اور بزرگ ہیں۔ اے اللہ برکت نازل فرما محمد (ﷺ) پر اور ان کی آل پر جیسا کہ برکت نازل فرمائی آپ نے ابراہیم علیہ السلام پر اور ان کی آل (اولاد) پر ، بیشک آپ ستودہ صفات اور بزرگ ہیں)**“۔ (صحیح بخاری)
”حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے حضور اکرم ﷺ کا یہ ارشاد نقل کیا ہے کہ جس شخص کو یہ پسند ہو کہ جب وہ درود پڑھا کرے ہمارے گھرانے پر تو اس کا ثواب بہت بڑے پیمانے میں ناپا جائے تو وہ ان الفاظ سے درود پڑھا کرے :۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدِ ۨ النَّبِیِّ الْاُمِّیِّ وَ اَزْوَاجِهٖ اُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ وَ ذُرِّیَّتِهٖ وَ اَهْلِ بَیْتِهٖ کَمَا صَلَّیْتَ عَلٰى اِبْرَا هِیْمَ اِنَّکَ حَمِیْدٌ ، مَّجِیْد۔
(ترجمہ :- اے اللہ درود بھیج محمد ﷺ پر جو نبی اُمی ہیں اور آپ ﷺ کی بیویوں پر جو سارے مسلمانوں کی مائیں ہیں اور آپ ﷺ کی آل اولاد پر اور آپ ﷺ کے گھرانے پر جیسا کہ درود بھیجا آپ نے آل ابراہیم پر بیشک آپ ستودہ صفات اور بزرگ ہیں)**“۔ (سنن ابو دا ؤد) ۔ نبی اُمّی حضور اکرم ﷺ کا خاص لقب ہے اور یہ لقب آپ ﷺ کا تورات ، انجیل اور تمام کتابوں میں جو آسمان سے اتریں ذکر کیا گیا ہے۔
یاد دھانی! ”حضرت رافعہ بن رافع رضی اللہ عنہ روایت کرتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا ، رکوع سے اٹھ کر جب امام سَمِعَ اللہُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَہُ (سن لی اللہ نے اس کی بات جس نے اس کی حمد کی) کہے تو مقتدی کیلئے رَبَّنَا وَلَکَ الْحَمْدُ ا حَمْدًا کَثِیْرًا طَیِّبًا مُبَارَکًا فِیْهِ (اے ہمارے مالک! تو ہمارا رب ہے اور تیرے ہی لئے ہے حمد، حمد کثیر اور ہر دم بڑھتی رہنے والی) کہنا عظیم ثواب کا باعث ہے“۔ (صحیح بخاری)

English Translation
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Words of Sending Blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ (In the Light of Hadith)
Abd al-Rahman رضي الله عنه reported that he met Ka‘b رضي الله عنه, who said: “Shall I not present to you a gift that I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?” I said, “Yes, please do.” He said: “We asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: O Messenger of Allah, in what words should we send blessings upon you? Allah has already taught us how to send salutations upon you.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad wa ‘ala ali Muhammad, kama sallayta ‘ala Ibrahim wa ‘ala ali Ibrahim, innaka Hamidun Majid. Allahumma barik ‘ala Muhammad wa ‘ala ali Muhammad, kama barakta ‘ala Ibrahim wa ‘ala ali Ibrahim, innaka Hamidun Majid.
Translation:
“O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari)
Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever wishes that when he sends blessings upon us, the reward be measured on a great scale, let him say these words:”
Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammadin al-nabiyyil-ummiyyi wa ‘ala azwajihi ummahatil-mu’minin wa dhurriyyatihi wa ahli baytihi, kama sallayta ‘ala Ibrahim, innaka Hamidun Majid.
Translation:
“O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, and upon his wives—the Mothers of the Believers—and upon his offspring and his household, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.”
(Sunan Abi Dawud)
The title “al-Nabiyy al-Ummiyy” is a special designation of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and it is mentioned in earlier revealed scriptures as well.
Reminder:
Rafi‘ ibn Rafi‘ رضي الله عنه reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: when the Imam says after rising from bowing, Sami‘a Allahu liman hamidah, then the follower should say:
Rabbana wa lakal hamd, hamdan kathiran tayyiban mubarakan fihi.
Translation:
“Our Lord, for You is all praise—abundant, pure, and full of blessing.”
This carries immense reward.
